Boyne Dental - Boyne Dental Navan interior details

Welcome to Boyne Dental

Thank you for choosing Boyne Dental.

We look forward to helping you with your dental care and achieving your goals. We want things to go smoothly for you so before attending our clinic, there are a few things we would like to make you aware of:

Medical Information:
For your safety, it is required that we record a full medical history and periodically update it. Please inform us of any medication that you are taking and advise us of any medical conditions. Some medications are hard to remember, so for your convenience, you can always send us a photograph of your list of medications and we can update your record manually. We will always ask you to arrive 10mins earlier than your scheduled appointment time, as this gives you a chance to record any information missing from your record and update your medical history, and means that your time with the dentist will not be effected. Our patient information is taken on clinical iPads and should you have difficulty in using these or forget your glasses, one of our patient care team will always be on hand to assist you and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

PRSI:
Did you know that PRSI now cover one FREE Dental Exam and a contribution towards your Hygiene appointment per calendar year, which makes your check up and clean only €15. Your eligibility is dependant on PRSI contributions. At Boyne Dental, we check your PPS number on your behalf through Welfare Partners online portal, on the morning of your scheduled appointment. Due to GDPR, we are unable to question the result on your behalf but we will always provide you with a contact number to query your result, if required.
Spousal PRSI claims MUST be made prior to your upcoming appointment. If you feel like you are entitled to claim under your spouses PPS number, please let us know so we can send you the relevant paperwork/form for you to fill out and submit to welfare partners in advance of your scheduled check up or clean. This can take a few weeks to process and once you have received confirmation of your spousal cover, please let the practice know in good time, so we can update your records. Failure to submit your form in time, will result in you being unable to use your PRSI entitlement at this appointment.

Fail to Attend:
We understand that sometimes there are situations that are unavoidable and can result in you not being able to attend. Failure to contact the practice ahead of your appointment leaves a “Fail to Attend” on your record. At our clinic we have a policy which requires a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations of appointments.
Our clinic has a number of patients on a waiting list and with notice of cancellation we can potentially fill any appointment with somebody who is eagerly waiting for dental treatment.
We fully understand peoples plans change and we will happily reschedule any appointment to a time more convenient for you.
In some cases where a patient has “Failed to Attend” more than two appointments and has had a couple of “Short Notice Cancellations” and many “Reschedules”, our system is set up to flag this and will require a holding deposit of €30. This deposit will be refunded to you or credited to your account after two successful attendances.

Emergencies:
It happens. You’re out enjoying the kids, playing a high-energy game of football. A surprise “tackle” from your little one results in you chipping a tooth. Or you wake up in the morning bothered by a dull ache in the back of your mouth that quickly escalates into a full-blown toothache. Anytime you experience injury to your teeth, mouth or jaw, it’s time to see a dentist.
At Boyne Dental & Implant Clinic we keep spaces available every day for such emergencies.  These evidently book up as the day progresses and during times we may need to prioritise certain emergencies to be seen sooner than others. We assure you that we will always do what we can to accommodate you and your family.

GDPR:
At Boyne Dental, we take your privacy very seriously and for all new patients, we ask you to carefully read our contact consent form when filling out your new patient information.

Our Location:
Boyne Dental is located in the heart of Navan. We have directions available at request should you not live locally, that will help you get right to our doorstep. If you ever find yourself lost, please call us and one of our patient care team will help guide you to the practice over the phone.

Our hygienists are mainly concerned with ‘preventive’ dental health and treating gum disease – showing you correct home care and helping you to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
Patients must first be examined by one of our dentists who will complete a full oral health exam and will then indicate the treatment to be carried out by the dental hygienist. If you haven’t received a check up with a dentist in over a year and call to arrange a hygiene visit, we will advise that you need to receive a check up with the dentist. The Irish Dental Authority guidelines state that this procedure is a must and follows our best practice protocol.
