Orla qualified as a dentist from University of Manchester in 2012. She is originally from Country Tyrone in the North of Ireland. She completed a one-year vocational training programme at Corry Dental Care, Magherafelt, through the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency. Orla went on to complete two years of hospital training. In her first year, she worked as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillo Facial Department/Orthodontic Department, Altnagelvin Area Hospital, Derry. In her second year she worked as a Senior House Officer on a Special Care rotation at Dublin Dental University College, Trinity College, Dublin. Upon returning from a career break where Orla travelled abroad, she worked as a Locum Dental Registrar in the Dental Department in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. Orla joined the team at Boyne Dental and Implant Clinic in November 2016, as an associate dentist. She has a keen interest in children’s dentistry and has used her experience in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin to provide gold standard care to patients.
Orla has undertaken postgraduate examinations and has achieved Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (BDS, MFDS RCS Ed).
Orla is a member of the Irish Dental Association and Irish Society of Disability and Oral Health.
Outside of dentistry Orla enjoys running and swimming.
