Originally from Country Tyrone in the North of Ireland, Orla qualified as a dentist from University of Manchester in 2012. She completed a one-year vocational training programme at Corry Dental Care, Magherafelt, through the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency. Orla went on to complete two years of hospital training- in her first year, she worked as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillo Facial Department/Orthodontic Department, Altnagelvin Area Hospital, Derry, and in her second year she worked as a Senior House Officer on a Special Care rotation at Dublin Dental University College, Trinity College, Dublin. Upon returning from a career break where Orla travelled abroad, she worked as a Dental Registrar in the Dental Department in Children’s Hospital Ireland at Crumlin. In her five years there, Orla provided dental care for medically compromised children, and gained additional training by working alongside two Specialist Paediatric Dental Consultants.
Orla joined the team at Boyne Dental and Implant Clinic in November 2016.
Orla has undertaken postgraduate examinations and has achieved Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (BDS, MFDS RCS Ed).
Orla is a member of the Irish Dental Association and Irish Society of Disability and Oral Health.
Outside of dentistry Orla enjoys running and swimming.
