About Boyne Dental & Implant Clinic Maynooth Overview

Ryebank Dental was a perfect fit for the Boyne Dental group because of a shared passion for pioneering patient care in Ireland. It built a reputation for national leadership in general dentistry since it was founded by Dr Brendan Glass in 1993.
It became Ireland’s first clinic to adopt digital scanning in 2003, installing a CEREC machine to enable 3D milling of crowns. Dr Glass, who retired from dentistry in 2019, said: “I watched the technology for 15 years and as son as it went 3D and the design process was easier I went for it immediately. Being able to offer patients crowns in one visit has been a cornerstone of my practice.”
Ryebank Dental also pioneered a new approach to the assessment of gum disease, introducing a device called the Florida Probe to its patients in 2002. Dr Glass said: “We were the first to bring to Ireland this scientific grade instrument designed for research, which removes the human error from measuring gum disease, the main cause of tooth loss.
Dr Glass took an interest in the use of bonding and composite materials in dentistry and through attending international conferences he became a good friend of the academics at Maastricht Dental School in the Netherlands, global leaders in this field.
Ryebank Dental was an early adopter of the layered composite technique developed by Professor Vanini of Italy. This technique builds up the tooth with layers of composite that mimic the different biological layers in the tooth that vary in translucency.

However, as important as technological innovation is the right human skills, and Ryebank Dental has an experienced team that is dedicated to patient care. This exceptional staff made Ryebank Dental such a patient friendly and happy establishment that it scored top marks with What Clinic for the past seven years running. Ryebank Dental has links with Trinity College School of Dental Science, where Dr Glass taught for 15 years, and has provided placements for trainee dental nurses.

Dr Glass said: “It was important for me that I found somebody to continue the ethos of the practice, which is about being at the forefront of developments in dentistry. David has a great patient-centric team which is strong at the management side of things and they’re all very happy. It is very important to me that all my team are staying on and that they are in safe hands.”

The team at Boyne Dental & Implant Clinic are extremely happy to welcome the Ryebank Dental team and are all very excited about what this new merger has in store.
