How do lip fillers work?
Lip fillers are a gel which acts as padding under the skin to fill out and redefine lips. Typically, fillers are used to redefine the shape of the lips giving the lips a more defined outline. This gel is injected using fine needles to points on the lips to plump and define the lip line. These results are immediate.
Does it hurt?
Having lip fillers can be uncomfortable but not very painful. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied before treatment to relieve any discomfort there may be. Following treatment some swelling or redness may occur which should only last for one to two days. Make-up can be applied immediately after the procedure to disguise any redness.
How long does lip filler last?
How long lip filler will last, can vary on a number of factors. These include genetics, age, skin type, lifestyle, muscle activity and even the type of lip filler used. Some lip filler can last for up to a year. It’s important to follow the advice of practitioner in order to maximise the effects of your treatment. Optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatment.
