Dermal fillers can help to smooth out facial indentations and add volume to your skin, thus helping our skin to regain its youthful look.

Hyaluronic acid facial fillers have been used to treat millions of patients worldwide and is the world’s most popular non-surgical treatment for static wrinkles and lines. They may also be used in combination with Botox for deeper lines. Hyaluronic acid facial fillers are temporary and results should last between 6 – 18 months.
How do facial fillers work?
Fillers are gels act as padding under the skin to fill out lines and hollows. Typically, fillers are used to reduce wrinkle depth rather than to eradicate them completely. They are injected using fine needles to strategic point on the face to plump and even out the skin. The results are immediate.
Does it hurt?
Having fillers injected can be uncomfortable but not generally very painful. There can be some swelling or redness for a day or two after treatment. Make-up can be applied immediately after the procedure to disguise an redness and you can go straight back to work.
How long will it filler last?
This will depend on a number of factors, not least the type of filler used. Some fillers can last up to a year. This will vary however from person to person and from one area of the face to another. Genetics, age, skin type, lifestyle, muscle activity and the injection technique used will all play a role and affect each individual differently. It’s important to follow the advice of practitioner in order to maximise the effects of your treatment. Optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatment.

Dr.Orlaith graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Dr.Orlaith travelled to Australia to gain experience in Queensland’s largest hospital where she developed a keen interest in facial aesthetics. Something she has been developing since returning home.
She returned to Ireland to pursue training in general practice and is currently working in a suburban Dublin practice.
